The cowboys bedded down under the stars here as they drove their cattle toward the market and port of what is now Fort Myers. But these days, we offer the comforts of home to those who want to escape the hectic demands of everyday life. For the day, or overnight.

Our main lodge features five guestrooms that can accommodate eight individuals. What we affectionately call another home located at Dark Hammock “The Outhouse”. This lodge sleeps an additional four. Three more can stay at the family residence, for a total of 15. If couples are included in the group, the total number climbs to 22.

The property features a picnic area that can accommodate 40. There is plenty of room to set up a tent with electric lights and cooking facilities, adjacent to the lodge.

While you are here, you’ll enjoy the sights and sounds of the countryside: Cattle grazing in green pastures, granddaddy oaks draped with Spanish Moss, chirping birds, and a stunning sunset on the flat-lands. The crickets will serenade you; the noise of passing traffic will be a thing of the past.

We offer a variety of outdoor activities for our guests, so you can customize your retreat with events that interest you.
